Running a little behind; Update of where things are.

Hey Folks-
I wanted to post an update to keep up the weekly cadence, but I don't have a good draft to share right now - too much is half-implemented in the draft for it to be useful, as I tackled a few too many things at once this week and ended up mired in some of the details.
I'll have an update next week, and I think that'll be a big update. I'm running a little behind schedule, but not too far behind. Here's what's up:
-
Art is definitely running behind. This is the hardest thing to get caught up on because it relies on a lot of moving parts. This is ultimately on me (I needed to bring more artists in earlier), but not too much I can do to make it go quicker, beside find more art-folks, which is something I'm working on. Monsters and races are the main section that are delayed by this.
-
Playtesting back and forth takes time. While a lot of folks are playtesting, it's an organizational challenge to process that feedback. I think at this point we are in the last lap of playtesting everything and the next versions will be the largely final versions, but there's just a lot to parse and it takes time. I'm just not really used to trying to turn around things particularly quickly, and sometimes hours fiddling with a feature. We are getting quite close here, it's just taking awhile.
-
Cross module delays. The root of the problem here was that I added the races, monsters, backgrounds, spells, feats, and started on crafting; this resulted in none of those being quite done. So what I'm going to do here is have those in three pieces: Player Options, Monsters, and Crafting, and then merge those docs together. We should get all three of those docs next week (23rd), and the merged one at the end of the month (30th).
So... things are running a little late, but I think still coming along more or less to what I'm hoping with the schedule, but I also don't want to raise expectations just to dash them on an update. I was hoping some art would could come through or I'd wrap up a section today, but realize that it's probably just better to take a bit of extra time and make sure each draft is useful. If you are the sort that wants the most raw updates, I'll be posting stuff throughout the week on the Discord.
Anyway, just a short update as I wanted to keep you folks in the loop. We'll have a draft next week, and I think that'll have new monsters, the rest of the player options updated (races are partially in, backgrounds are in, feats are in, and the overhaul of the last round of feedback is in progress), and the crafting section is a maybe (I've started chewing on that into the KS Compendium format).
Always feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions!
